John Shuttleworth -yacht designer

John Shuttleworth set up Shuttleworth Design in 1980 after a period working with Derek Kelsall. He worked on some of Kelsall's greatest designs and the two men pioneered the use of computers in multihull design to devise formula's to predict performance and stability as well as developing a rating rule for multihulls. After working with Chay Blyth on GBiV John then designed Blyth's next racing trimaran Brittany Ferries. He has designed over 50 multihulls. including a number of highly successful ocean racers including among others, the 65' Brittany Ferries GB; 56' Fleury-Michon Vl (renamed Elle-et-Vire); 60' Great American and the 80' Novanet, that all broke records.
